Your Choice for Denture Rebasing in Abbotsford

Look no further than Abbotsford Denture Clinic if you’re looking for denture reline, rebase or repair professionals.

Reline and Rebase

Since the inside of your mouth changes over time, dentures can become loose, generate sore spots, and become uncomfortable and ill-fitting. A reline, also known as a “denture tightening,” provides a quick and cost-effective solution. Regular relining will also help keep your dentures and gums in better condition. If significant changes have occurred, replacing the entire “pink” gum portion of the denture while retaining all of the teeth is possible. This is called a rebase. Your denturist at Abbotsford Denture Clinic will gladly access your dentures free of charge or at an annual check-up appointment and confirm your treatment options.

Relines

There is a requirement for relining when bones and tissues change due to shrinkage. Possible causes may be:

• Post immediate dentures
• Tooth loss
• Bone loss in the upper or lower jaw
• Sickness or disease
• General physiological aging

The bite position, existing teeth and acrylic base(s) must be in good condition and not worn or stained for a reline procedure.

An impression of your oral tissue is taken inside your denture(s) to provide a working model. The new acrylic base material is added to your denture to produce a correct fit. The appearance of your dentures will not change.

Rebase

This procedure is similar to relining. The difference is that a rebase replaces all the pink-acrylic denture base material. The existing teeth remain in the same place.
